Ending off their season on a high Falkirk's second fifteen most certainly went to town with an impressive display of fast open rugby, which saw them overwhelm Crieff & Strathearn by seven tries to three at Sunnyside last weekend.

Taking the initiative from the starting whistle, Falkirk were immediately on the attack. Following a neat break from Inside-Centre Gregor Ramsay just inside Crieff & Strathearn 22 metre line he kicked to the corner and won the race to the loose ball for Falkirk's opening try with only two minutes on the clock, conversion missed. Ten minutes later further pressure from the home side saw them earn a five metre line-out, from which Number Eight Jamie Syme peeled off and broke up the narrow side for a well taken try, his first of an injury plagued season, conversion missed.

However the visitors responded well, countering with a converted try on the quarter hour mark under the posts, try converted. Falkirk though quickly struck back five minutes later, when a mazy run from the mercurial Gregor Ramsay, on almost the same position on the field as before, saw him ghost his way through for his brace of tries, conversion missed.

Keeping up the pressure Falkirk then took full advantage when they forced the visitors to lose control of the ball deep inside their own 22 metre area, Left-Winger Andrew Thompson pounced and took possession and stormed over for a fine opportunist try, conversion unfortunately grazed the upright.

Crieff & Strathearn must have felt they were still in the game as they positively started the second period and saw the visitors add another converted try in the 50th minute, try converted. Awaking from their slumber the Sunnysiders were having none of it and they retaliated with a slick passage of handling in the visitors last quarter of the field. Young wing, Andrew Thompson was on the end of the passing and broke clear, for his second try of the afternoon, with Scrum-Half Euan Edmond adding the conversion.

However, and to their credit, Crieff &.Strathearn countered well with an unconverted try in the 66th minute, to send alarm bells ringing in Falkirk's ears, with the score now at 27-19. Maybe the Falkirk changes had temporarily put them off their stride but they reacted well to the situation and went through the gears Falkirk clicked into action and went on to score two further tries from Full-Back Ryan Cameron, following a great break from his Stand-Off Limbert, conversion missed. Falkirk final try was well worked, Lock-Forward Duncan Scobie, took a beautiful delayed pass from scrum half Euan Edmond and the young man charged through to score, try converted by Euan Edmond.
