Although putting up a gallant fight and a very creditable performance Falkirk went down to current League-Leaders Marr, who proved to be an upwardly mobile all round talented side,on a bitterly cold day, with the Sunnyside pitch in excellent condition. Falkirk struggled to contain the Ayrshire side once they had built up a head of steam.
However the home side opened brightly with a series of good phases of play in Marr's 22 metre area and got some reward for their efforts when Stand-Off Liam Brims converted a 15th minute penalty, only for his opposite Colin Sturgeon to reply in kind for Marr just six minutes later.
Alas disaster struck for Falkirk almost immediately afterwards when both Andrew Hamilton and Gary Dempsey were both yellow carded within two minutes of one another by the very young Referee and Marr took immediate advantage by going on to add their first try of the afternoon. Seizing their opportunity the visitors forwards pressurised on Falkirk's five metre line and following a series of rucks the ball was shipped to the back division for Sturgeon to break through under Falkirk's posts for the touchdown.
Brims then went on to counter for Falkirk with a further converted penalty in the 33rd minute but Marr's formidable pack of forwards paved the way for a try, from a five metre ruck, for Hooker Stephen Adair five minutes later with Sturgeon converting both tries.

Continuing from where they had left off Marr yet again looked very threatening in Falkirk's last quarter of the field with their Inside-Centre Conor Bickerstaff making a powerful break and rounding Falkirk's uprights for a well taken individualist try, which Sturgeon duly converted in the opening five minutes of the half. Despite further yellow cards for Falkirk's Craig Hamilton, Andrew Simpson and Marr's Andrew Acton there was no more scoring as the rest of the match which was very keenly contested indeed, it was by no stretch of the imagination a one-sided affair, as Falkirk knuckled down well and gave as good as they got.
FT: Falkirk 6 vs Marr 26
As has been our want this season, we have yet again paid heavily for yellow cards and conceded tries in nearly every game. Credit to the players they have also played hard when down in numbers.
