Maintaining their current winning form Falkirk came away with a pretty satisfying victory over Whitecraigs on a very blustery West Lodge pitch at Newton Mearns last weekend,in fact how they managed to make a game of it in such disadvantageous conditions was a credit to both sides. With the strong, troublesome cross-wind blowing straight across the pitch the opening 15 minutes turned out to be a bit of a lottery before Falkirk opened up their account for the afternoon. Despite the adverse conditions the visitors managed to string some decent passes together on 'Craigs 10 metre line for Right-Winger Jacob Adamson to step out of an attempted tackle and race over for Falkirk's opening try. Six minutes later, with the Sunnysider's forwards pressurising their opposites on their 5 metre line, near the corner flag,Flanker Angus Inwood seized possession and powered his way over the line, with Stand-Off Liam Brims converting both tries for a half-time score of Whitecraigs 0 Falkirk 14. However 'Craigs commenced the second period of play positively when their forwards laid the foundations for a converted try in the opening minute, but Brims countered for Falkirk with a converted penalty just five minutes later. With the bit firmly placed between their teeth Falkirk looked the more determined outfit and were rewarded for their efforts in the 54th minute, when from a ruck under the posts,Brims sent out a long pass for Adamson to latch on to and dot down in the corner for his brace of tries. Shortly into 4th Quarter, and from almost identical position on the field,Brims ducked and weaved his way through for the bonus point awarding try, which he duly converted himself before converting a further penalty just three minutes afterwards. Closing off the encounter good handling from the back division deep inside 'Craig's Half saw Full-Back Craig Robertson scamper over for an unconverted try in the 74th minute, but Falkirk themselves were caught with their pants down when 'Craigs ran in a converted try, seemingly completely unopposed, three minutes from full time.
