In an amazing reversal from the previous week's disappointing and disjointed performance at Biggar Falkirk produced a stunning and jawdropping all round team display to comprehensively thump previously undefeated league leaders Hamilton by seven tries to three at Sunnyside last weekend. Knowing that they had to improve markedly on their poor form against Biggar, and bearing in mind the quality of the opposition they faced,Falkirk commenced the game in a very determined mood indeed and Hamilton were struggling to get some decent possession of the ball. With their forwards to the fore Falkirk surged into Hamilton's 22 metre area, when following a neat break from Left-Winger Jacob Adamson,Lock-Forward David Stoddart seized possession from the ensuing five metre ruck and crashed over for an unconverted try in the 11th minute. Seven minutes later, and from a very similar build-up,unrelenting pressure from the pack of forwards enabled Hooker Andrew Simpson the time and space to barge his way over in the corner following a five metre line out. To the watching supporters absolute delight Falkirk continued to take the game to Hamilton and they went on to score an absolute gem of a try very shortly afterwards, when Scrum-Half Harry Russell sent a neat kick over the heads of the oncoming defenders, which the charging Kris Burney then took cleanly at pace before sending Jacob Adamson storming in under the uprights from just inside Hamilton's 22 metre line. Falkirk's bonus point was assured in the 34th minute when Stand-Off Liam Brims jinked and dummied his way through in the visitors 22 metre area for a fine individualist try,but Hamilton countered just two minutes later when Prop-Forward Chris McLaughlin broke clear away for an unconverted try near the corner. However Falkirk had the last say in affairs, just on the stroke of half-time,when another sweeping move from the back division ended up with Inside-Centre Andrew Hamilton scything his way over wide out. Brims also added three conversions for a half-time score of Falkirk 31 Hamilton 5. In a busy start to the second period of play Brims converted a 45th minute penalty for Falkirk, but David Deuchars then run in an unconverted try for Hamilton just two minutes later. Buoyed up by that the visitors then went on to score a further try from Scrum-Half Stevie Turnbull, with Stand-Off Andy Wilson adding the conversion, before Brims converted a further penalty for the home side in the 57th minute. Finishing off the match in style slick handling from the backs saw Full-Back Craig Robertson run in back-to-back tries in the closing quarter, with Brims slotting over a further conversion.
