Proving far too strong opposition on the day Falkirk ran riot at Sunnyside last weekend in trouncing East Lothian side Lasswade emphatically by a margin of nine tries to one. Stand-Off Liam Brims opened the scoring with a 5th minute converted penalty before Full-Back Craig Robertson ran in Falkirk's opening try from Lasswade's ten metre line only two minutes later. With the home side's forwards in domineering mood Scrum-Half Harry Russell then went on to break from a ruck under the posts and squirm his way over in the 13th minute shortly before Left-Winger Gary Dempsey squeezed over in the corner from another powerful five metre ruck. Brims converted a further penalty conversion in the 25th minute for Falkirk and with Half-Time looming Prop-Forward Kris Burney barged over from yet another five-metre ruck for the bonus point awarding try. Brims also had two conversions to his credit for a Half-Time score of Falkirk 30 Lasswade 0. With Lasswade struggling desperately to plug the ever largening holes in the dam Falkirk opened the second period by scoring three tries in the opening nine minutes through Harry Russell,Johan Wagenaar and Martin Hall. However the visitors did show some enterprise when their Number 8 Douglas Hearn broke up the touchline for a try, which caught Falkirk napping,in the 55th minute and Stand-Off Matthew Smith added the conversion.Nevertheless Falkirk closed off the half in style with further tries from Stewart McCulloch and Harry Russell for his overall hat-trick,with Brims and Robertson adding a conversion apiece.
