Overcoming early handling errors Falkirk eventually found their rhythm and clicked into gear to overwhelm bottom of the table side Haddington at Sunnyside last weekend. On the attack from the starting whistle Falkirk really should have been at least two or three tries up in the opening ten minutes but their ball transference was well below par and the scoreboard remained blank. However the home side's forwards just kept grinding away, and following a five metre ruck in the top left hand corner Lock-Forward Chris Beetham barged his way over for the opening try in the 13th minute. Giving the Easy Lothian side little time to recover Falkirk's nippy Left-Winger Jacob Adamson then suddenly popped up on the opposite wing to skirt the touchline from nearly the halfway line for a superb individualist try just four minutes later. Keeping up the pressure Falkirk's pack again laid the foundations, deep into Haddington's 22 metre area, enabling Stand-Off Logan Bonnar to take possession before making a neat half break and scampering under the posts for a well taken try slap bang on the end of the first quarter. Very shortly afterwards Falkirk's bonus point was assured when Number 8 Craig Varcoe put the icing on the cake by bulldozing over from yet another five metre ruck, and Right-Winger Graham Lindsay closed off the half in style when he came in off his wing to dot the ball down under the posts in the 32nd minute. Bonnar also added three conversions for a half time score of Falkirk 31 Haddington 0. It was very much the case of as you were after the break with further tries from Lawrence Miller,Tom Johnson,Graham Lindsay and Harry Russell completing the romp, and Bonnar slotted over two second half conversions. Previous to the fixture at the pre match reunion lunch former players such as Bob Wylie,Chris Harris,Stuart McAllister,Kevin and Mark McKenzie and Brendan Cairns all had a chance to renew their bond with one another, and no doubt recall their playing memories with the club. It was also most heart warming to see them mingling with the present squad in the clubhouse afterwards.
