Although winning their third league fixture in a row,and remaining unbeaten so far,Falkirk must surely rue the fact that had their finishing off and passing been more clinical they would undoubtably have won by a larger margin, and a bonus point to boot. However, following early exchanges,it was the visitors who showed their intent by putting Falkirk under pressure and they were duly rewarded in the 14th minute, when C.Q.P.'s forwards paved the way for Left-Winger Alex Boyle to make a neat break, before kicking ahead and Inside-Centre Declan Goldie was on the spot to dive on the loose ball for an unconverted try. Finding their opponents a tough nut to crack Falkirk absorbed further pressure before they finally got themselves on the score-sheet in the 32nd minute when Left-Winger Benji Cottle fielded an attempted clearance kick and quickly transferred to Scrum-Half and Captain Harry Russell. Needing no second invitation he then set off at a rate of knots, before chipping the ball ahead and smartly retrieving it and scamper over for the equalising unconverted try. Sticking to their task Falkirk's perseverance saw them take the lead deep into injury time when Right-Winger Graham Lindsay just got the ball down near the corner flag for a Half-Time score of Falkirk 10 C.Q.P. 5. Maintaining that positive attitude Falkirk opened brightly when a powerful break, from just outside C.Q.P.'s 22 metre area,by Inside-Centre Graham Gillilands saw him charge on for Lock-Forward Cole Ronald to take the scoring pass, and Stand-Off Logan Bonnar duly added the conversion, with the second period only two minutes old. However despite the promise,as it turned out, there was no more scoring but it has to be said that whenever Falkirk got themselves into a scoring opportunity all too many times did the final pass go behind the recipient or over his head and the score went abegging.
