Cutting loose and fancy free Falkirk put the previous week's very narrow win firmly behind them with a twelve try extravaganza at Neilson Park Haddington last Saturday afternoon on a perfect day for fast, attractive running rugby, with conditions firm underfoot. Getting off their mark quickly Falkirk soon pinned Haddington down in the bottom right hand corner of the pitch, and following a five metre ruck Winger Graham Lindsay took possession and broke through for the visitors opening 7th minute try. Keeping up the pressure Open-Side Wing-Forward Stewart McCulloch was on the spot to charge the ball down,as Haddington attempted to clear the ball from behind their own posts, and touchdown under the uprights. However the home side's Stand-Off Alex Ferguson converted a penalty in the 16th minute, shortly before Outside-Centre Gary Dempsey made a scintillating break from 30 metres out and weaved his way over for try number three for Falkirk. Nevertheless Falkirk were caught on the hop in the 23rd minute when Haddington's Right-Winger Kyle Adams intercepted the ball on Falkirk's ten metre line and took full advantage by storming away for an opportunist try, which Alex Ferguson duly converted. Undaunted though Falkirk continued to dominate with further tries from Benji Cottle,Matt Larsen,Gary Dempsey and Graham Lindsay, with Stand-Off Logan Bonnar adding four conversions for a Half-Time score of Haddington 10 Falkirk 43. Number Eight Lawrence Miller crashed over in the corner for an unconverted try within three minutes of the restart, following a break from Benji Cottle, but yet again Falkirk suffered another interception try shortly afterwards when the East Lothian side's Full-Back James Ferguson snatched the ball in mid -flight and raced through for another converted try. Inevitably, just as before, the visitors just put their foot on the accelerator pedal and a further brace of tries from Graham Lindsay was followed with a try apiece from Cole Ronald and Benji Cottle, with Logan Bonnar slotting over a further two conversions.
