In preparation for life in National League Division 1 this coming season, and well aware of the stern task ahead of them,Falkirk entertained Premier Division 1 side Glasgow Hawks at Sunnyside last weekend with the format entailing three periods of play of thirty minutes duration. In the first period both sides seemed pretty evenly matched until, and slightly against the run of play,Hawks broke clear away from midfield for their Outside-Centre to run in a converted try in the 15th minute. However Falkirk responded positively just six minutes later when Right-Winger Jacob Adamson got the ball down in the corner, after sterling lead up work from the forwards, with Stand-Off Craig Robertson converting accurately. Countering powerfully the visitors retook the lead bang on the thirty minute mark when they scored from a five metre ruck under Falkirk's posts. Falkirk 7 Glasgow Hawks 12. Faring much better in the second period good slick handling from the back division saw Falkirk run in three early tries, with a brace from Jacob Adamson and a touchdown from Craig Robertson before Hawks responded with a push over try nine minutes before the end of the period. Falkirk 15 Hawks 5. For the third and final passage of play Falkirk fielded almost their entire 2nd XV squad, but obviously Hawks strengthened their's and proved far too strong opposition over all by running in eight tries and four conversions, with Falkirk's only response coming from another brace of tries from Adamson and two Liam Brims conversions. Falkirk 14 Hawks 48. With the overall score tally ending up as Falkirk 36 Glasgow Hawks 65.
