Welcome to Falkirk Rugby Academy

Falkirk Rugby Academy was developed with the sole purpose of accelerating the development of the young talented players at the club. The vision; produce players that will form the cornerstone of Falkirk Rugby for many years to come. With the fantastic support from SportsScotland we developed a framework to achieve this vision and embarked upon a journey with our members and the young talent at Falkirk Rugby.

One of the fundamental principles of the Academy was that all players would be considered on merit and that the Academy would be free to all, we are committed to ensure that no player would be disadvantaged in their application to join the Academy. The Academy is open to players from U14 to U20 with a total of 30 players in the Academy it is split into two specific themes, Performance and Development, with 15 in each section.

The Academy has an Academy Manager who is responsible for the overall running of the Academy and development as well as skills coach. There is also a specialist Strength & Conditioning coach to support the players. The Academy is further supported by the clubs Physiotherapist.

Players will have to apply to be in the Academy every year, every applicant will meet with the Academy Manager to discuss their aims and ambitions as well as what would be expected of the player should they be successful in their application. All players will then be put through a skills development session where they will be assessed by the Academy Manager and Falkirk Rugby senior coaches.

The Academy has four main themes: SKILL DEVELOPMENT, STRENGTH & CONDITIONING, GAME AWARENESS, LIFESTYLE & MENTAL PREPARATION
