Weekend 28/29 Sept

?Weekend Roundup?

1st XV.

The 1s travelled to unbeaten Pebbles to be met with bright sunshine and a beautifully presented pitch at The Gyte looking for a first win of the season.

Falkirk started brightly, disciplined in defence and controlled in attack with the first score coming from Chris Lawson who’s running line from 15 saw him go under the posts untouched. This was followed up by Captain Stewart McCulloch (sponsored by Muscle Injury Clinic Falkirk) taking the score out to 12-0 before Peebles hit back through their Captain and loosehead prop breaking down the wing. 15-7 HT.

The second half was a reverse of the first, with Peebles defence standing firm and Falkirks penalty count rising allowing Peebles to score 17 unanswered points with fly half Finn Call in the sin bin. Falkirk managed to rally late to grab a bonus point, Marko Mladenovic getting on the end of a Harry Russell dart to run the ball in from 30m out. The bonus point score came in the last play of the game woth David Stoddart (sponsored by Patricks of Camelon) coming up from a pile of bodies claiming the score after multiple drives at the Peebles line. Final score 38-29, man of the match for Falkirk Marko Mladenovic.

The 2s welcomed DUMs to Falkirk for a 3rd home game on the bounce, with injuries and unavailabilites seeing the team change drastically for a 3rd week in a row. Undeterred the 2s managed to rack up 31 points for a bonus point, the pick of the scores a cross field kick to man of the match Willie Shaw. Unfortunately they were not as strong in defence conceding 47 points.

Sunday saw the ever growing minis travel to Glenrothes. Great rugby was played by all age groups, lots of tries with some great defence and passing with teams improving every time they play.
