It's still very early days in National League Div. 2, but Saturday's home 1st XV fixture against Howe of Fife could be a litmus test for both sides' prospects this season. Falkirk go into the game with growing confidence after back-to-back wins on the road against Newton Stewart and Preston Lodge, while Howe have still to register their first win of the season and sit bottom of the table. Head Coach Niall Lear will no-doubt have the men from Cupar fired up for their visit to his old stomping ground.

The 2nd XV head north to play Crieff & Strathearn, with both sides on a 2 & 1 record so far in Caley Midlands Div. 2, albeit each having suffered their first defeat of the season last week. A youngish Falkirk side battled valiantly but came up short against a Madras side which had as many Fijians as Fifers in it, while Crieff and Strathearn failed to match Falkirk's away win at Kinross on the opening day.

Finally, the Colts make the long trip to Inverness to face Highland Eagles in the U18s National Youth Cup. With Highland leading their league (U18 Nat. 1), it's sure to be a stern test, but the young Wheels are going well themselves, sitting joint top of U18 Nat. 2, level with Deeside on two wins and one draw.
