Hi FRFC Members & Supporters,
I hope Christmas was harmonious and the New Year is treating you well. I thought it was timely, during the 6 Nations intermission to cascade an update.
1/ It’s Budget Time, and Jen has been working diligently on next season’s. We’ve paid down a lot of debt, of which I’ll keep my powder dry until the AGM, but I’m hopeful you’ll all be as delighted as I am with our financial position. May AGM date will be cascaded before end February.
2/ Next Season – ch...ch...ch…changes…..
- Chris Lawson has intimated, that after 5 seasons sterling service, that he’d like to take a step back and, whilst still being available to help on the Coaching side, AND he’d also like to focus on playing a season or 2 for the blue on blues. So ying and yang on that front, but a BIG Hand to Chris who stood with us through the difficulties of last season.
- So we need a new Head Coach. We’ve some targets in mind, but if you know of anyone who could potentially do a job for us then please let Kenny or me know.
- New Jersey Sponsor – again, huge thanks to Stevie who’s backed us for 2 seasons and has been an exemplary Main Sponsor. Anyone with any good leads or contacts, then please let Phil, Mark or myself know.
3/ Congrats to Lewis Skinner for making the Club XV – very well deserved lad!
4/ Bar Ratios remain strong, well done Nicola and Team, for when we’re open, but we’d like to be open more – so please help by spreading the word that the Club is an excellent location, and available to hire, for all types of functions.
5/ Beer festival has been set for 15th June. I for one will be there. Absolutely cracking club day last year. Dale is lead, ably assisted by Rooz & Ross Denny.
6/ Minis and Midis are going very well, but experienced coaches will also be very welcome, it’s the coaches who keep the players coming back. Minis Race Night on 27th April at the Club, ALL welcome.
Where are we Heading & What's Important?
I think we’re at the place where everyone knows who’s doing what, if in doubt I’ll be at the bar! But additional help is always welcome and there’s areas I want to branch into. On the basis we’re in control financially and the senior playing side is going okay then current focus areas are
• Club Development, Mark Crawford is Lead
 A base club and function suite scheme has been developed for indicative costings. This one will be a journey, but every journey starts………

• Ladies Team – we still need more numbers and more down to training if we’re to make a success of the new League set up.
• Pitch side Boards – my ambition is for end of season, to have the far side 50% filled with Boards. Think we need another 5-6 to get there. I know the support is out there. Please help.
